Advent Day #27 - Matthew 2:1-2

Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the reign of King Herod.  About that time some wise men from eastern lands arrived in Jerusalem, asking, "Where is the newborn king of the Jews?  We saw his star as it rose, and we come to worship him."

It is very likely that these three wise men were astrologers from the East.  They would not be considered worshippers of God.  However, they knew the significance of Christs birth.  I think it is amazing that even those who are not necessarily believers can grasp the magnitude of the birth of Christ.  God has etched the story of his redemption in the hearts of men.  Men for years have been seeking to find a solution to their spiritual problems.  We have the answer that they have been seeking.  We have the answer to the most vexing question of fallen man.  Let us share that Joy with our fellow me this Christmas.  Jesus said if I be lifted up I will draw all men to myself.  Let us lift up Christ this Christmas!
