Yet God has made everything beautiful in its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God's work from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NLT)
I found this verse this morning. I found it extremely striking. It really speaks to the limited perspective that we have as human beings. We fool ourselves when we think we have all the plans of God figured out. He has a plan. It is a plan for each and every one of us. We cannot see the whole scope. One day, when we are in heaven we will be able to have him explain it all to us. For now, we can only trust him. We know what type of God he is. We know that he is a loving and merciful God. He is always acting in love toward us. We have to simply trust that no matter the circumstance that he is working it out for our good.
I think it is amazing what Solomon says. God has planted eternity in the human heart. At the very core of ourselves, we all know that there is more than just this temporal world. There is something greater. Something that will last. Even unbelievers know that there is something greater out there. It has been etched into our hearts before the foundations of the world. He places this eternal question in our hearts, and then provides the answer to it in his son Jesus!
