World's Greatest Dad #Fatherhood

I have to be honest.  I would not win any awards for the type of Dad that I have been.  When I wrote that post yesterday it is as much for me, as it is for anyone else.  I have been a distant father.  I spent most of my time stressing about all that I was not, and missed a lot of cool dad moments.  I would then beat up on myself about how bad I was, and miss even more.  It took a crisis for me to see what really needed to happen.  I fathered in such a stop and start fashion, because I was trying to do it all on my own.  It has only been since I got in touch with my heavenly father that I believe I have really started to take advantage of being a dad.  I am no where near the father that I would like to be.  I am still a work in progress.  The important thing is that God loves giving us multiple chances.  He is not one to give up on you.  If you are lacking in the area of fatherhood, then ask him.  He would love to father you, so that you are better able to father your own kids.  If you have never been fathered by your Father in heaven, then you are really missing out.  You will not wake up one morning and be all the dad you want to be.  It is not going to happen like that.  Give all your failings and past hurts to God, and then you will be able to enjoy the limited time you have to be a dad.  They grow up so quick.  You don't want to miss a minute.  God Bless!
